From Manual Workwear Management to Greater Transparency for Schwartauer Werke
The Path to Modern Workwear Management
At Schwartauer Werke, the realignment of workwear provision became the starting point for simpler processes. Together with textile service provider Elis and system supplier ACG Pulse, the company introduced an RFID-based solution that enables greater transparency, high availability of workwear and less manual work.
A Well-Known Food Manufacturer
Schwartauer Werke produces fruit products and snacks such as Schwartau jams and Corny bars. From several locations in Bad Schwartau, the company supplies both the German and international markets.

The Goal: Less Effort
Previously, the distribution and management of workwear were largely manual. There was only limited visibility of stock levels and storage locations. Personally assigned clothing led to long delivery times and additional work. Schwartauer Werke wanted to reduce administrative effort, make it easier to provide temporary workers with workwear, and gain greater insight into usage and costs.
Elis and ACG Pulse as Partners
Elis offered a comprehensive concept with pooled laundry, sustainable reuse and the inclusion of temporary workers. ACG Pulse’s RFID-based Q-Web Gate system solution was integrated to largely automate the distribution and return of workwear. Automatic inventory management and workwear distribution available around the clock were important reasons for the decision. Automatic recording of garment withdrawals and returns increases process reliability and reduces manual work.
Introduced Together
The introduction took place in stages. Purchasing, Production, HR, Communications, IT, Technical Services and the Works Council worked together with Elis and ACG Pulse. Processes were defined, employee data integrated and works agreements coordinated. Schwartauer Werke describes the collaboration as professional, constructive and solution oriented.

Simpler Processes and More Control in Everyday Operations
Established in Everyday Operations
Information sessions and test phases enabled employees to become familiar with the system at an early stage. The availability of workwear at all times and the simpler distribution process were particularly well received. After a short adjustment period, the solution became an established part of everyday work.
Insights with Added Value
Today, Schwartauer Werke has greater visibility of stock levels and garment movements. Administrative effort has been reduced, and stock levels can be managed in a more targeted way. Particularly noteworthy is the insight into the actual use of the workwear. Automation has simplified routine tasks and freed up capacity in the departments involved.
